HOW SHOULD I CLEAN MY SHOES?
Clean your running shoes and other athletic shoes with a mild, dye-free detergent (either for dishwashing or laundry) and a bristle brush (such as a toothbrush) following the steps below.
1. Test a small amount of the detergent on an unnoticeable part of your shoes to make sure it won’t stain them. 2. Use your bristle brush to scrub the shoes with the detergent. 3. Wipe shoes clean with a damp cloth. 4. Allow your shoes to air dry for 24 hours before wearing. 5. For shoes made of suede or leather, use a specialty leather or suede cleaner.
We do not suggest putting any of our shoes into the washing machine or dryer since many of our materials should not be fully submerged in water or exposed to heat.
HOW MANY MILES CAN I RUN IN MY SHOES?
The amount of miles running shoes last varies from person to person depending on factors such as your body weight and the surfaces you run on. Instead of focusing on mileage, we suggest paying attention to how you feel after your runs and the condition of your shoes. If your joints feel sore or achy or your feet feel tired after activities that were previously done comfortably, it may be time to replace your shoes. Additionally, if your shoes show signs of excessive wear, such as worn-down soles or tears in the material, it’s time for a new pair.
WHEN SHOULD I REPLACE MY SHOES?
The lifespan of a pair of shoes can vary significantly based on factors such as your level of activity, body weight, the surfaces you wear them on, how you store them and more. Because of this, we suggest paying attention to how you feel after you wear your shoes and the condition of your shoes. If your joints feel sore or achy or your feet feel tired after activities that were previously done comfortably, it may be time to replace your shoes. If the soles show excessive wear in areas or are even worn flat, it’s time to replace them. Other obvious signs of wear, such as holes or tears in materials, also mean it’s time for a new pair.
DO YOU HAVE TIPS TO MAKE SHOES LAST LONGES?
To get the most out of your shoes, we suggest putting them to use soon after purchasing. Letting athletic shoes sit unworn for long periods can cause the glue and cushioning materials to dry out, impacting their performance and lifespan. Additionally, rotating between more than one pair of shoes for your runs or workouts can help each pair last longer. Switching up your shoes allows each pair to air out and gives the cushioning materials time to decompress between wears.
